Summary:
A public hearing will be conducted for City Council to consider proposed changes to Colorado Springs Utilities’ Water, Wastewater and Electric Rate Schedules and Utilities Rules and Regulations as reflected in the 2020 Rate Case filing to be effective January 1, 2020.
Previous Council Action:
On June 12, 2018 City Council approved the most recent changes to the Utilities Rules and Regulations by Resolution No. 60-18. On November 13, 2018 City Council approved the most recent changes to Water Rate Schedules by Resolution No. 126-18 and Wastewater Rate Schedules by Resolution No. 125-18. On July 23, 2019 City Council approved the most recent changes to Electric Rate Schedules by Resolution No. 68-19. On September 10, 2019 City Council established a public hearing date of October 22, 2019.
Background:
On September 10, 2019 Colorado Springs Utilities filed the 2020 Rate Case, including resolutions and all supporting documentation, that proposed changes to Water, Wastewater and Electric Rate Schedules and Utilities Rules and Regulations to be effective January 1, 2020.
In accordance with the City Code of the City of Colorado Springs § 12.1.108, copies of the rate filing were available for public inspection in the City Clerk office beginning on September 10, 2019. Notice of the proposed changes was provided by publication in The Gazette on September 12, 2019. The 2020 Rate Case filing was also posted on the Colorado Springs Utilities’ website at www.csu.org, and electronic copies were provided to City Council members.

Colorado Springs Utilities is proposing rate and fee increases as reflected in the 2020 Rate Case filing.
