Summary:
The attached ordinance amends the City Code provisions pertaining to the use of permits and licenses for the use of City property.
Background:
The ordinance amends City Code Chapter 3 (Public Property and Public Works). This amendment clarifies who has the authority to issue licenses and permits for the use of City property and under what circumstances the City will use a license versus a permit. It specifies that permits are for the use of right-of-way and specialized Utilities property and that licenses are for all other uses of City property.
Previous Council Action:
City Council amended the City’s Real Estate Manual in March of 2021 to manage City Real Estate, including provisions for acquisitions, dispositions and resolving title issues.
The proposed ordinance was reviewed at Utilities Board on November 20, 2024.
