Habitat for Humanity’s vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live. In 1985, the United Nations General Assembly declared that the first Monday in October be World Habitat Day to recognize the concerns and conditions of adequate shelter for all humans, and to encourage grassroots action toward improving housing conditions worldwide
