Summary:
This is an intergovernmental agreement with the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder for the 2022 Coordinated Election.
Background:
State law requires all entities participating in the November 8, 2022 Coordinated Election to sign and return intergovernmental agreements to participate in this election by no later than August 30, 2022.
Previous Council Action:
On July 12, 2022 City Council passed a resolution declaring their intention to hold a Special Municipal Election and to participate in the 2022 Coordinated Election being conducted by the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder.
On August 10, 2022 City Council referred two citizen initiated ordinances to hold a Special Municipal Election on the coordinated November 2022 election ballot.
Financial Implications:
The El Paso County Clerk and Recorder provided an estimate of $315,604.52 for the City’s share of the cost to participate in the 2022 Coordinated Election. An analysis will be done to determine if a supplemental appropriation is needed, or if this amount can be accommodated within the current General Costs appropriation.
