Summary:
The salary ranges for the City Attorney, the City Auditor, and the City Council Administrator positions are included in the annual salary schedule which is approved by ordinance. City Charter § 13-80 and City Code § 1.2.203 require the annual salary of the City Attorney be prescribed by ordinance, City Charter § 3-10(e) and City Code § 1.2.203 require the annual salary of the City Auditor be prescribed by ordinance, and City Charter § 3-10(e) requires the annual salary of the City Council Administrator be prescribed by ordinance.
Going forward, City Council wishes to prescribe the annual salaries of the City Attorney, the City Auditor, and the City Council Administrator in a single ordinance, finding this to be a more efficient exercise of this administrative task pursuant to City Charter § 3-10(b).
Background:
It is recommended that the salaries of the City Attorney, the City Auditor, and the City Council Administrator be prescribed as follows:
A. City Attorney - $219,138
B. City Auditor - $188,670
C. City Council Administrator - $125,715
Previous Council Action:
Ordinance Nos. 14-20 (An Ordinance Confirming the Mayor’s Appointment of the City Attorney and Setting the Salary of the City Attorney) and 18-120 (An Ordinance Appointing the City Council Administrator and Setting the Salary of the City Council Administrator) remain in full force and effect except to the extent they are inconsistent with the salaries prescribed by this ordinance.
