Randy Scott, Affordable Housing Collaborative
Body
Summary:
The presentation provides an overview of the Affordable Housing Collaborative’s efforts to engage the community and advocate for affordable housing in the Colorado Springs region.
Background:
The Affordable Housing Collaborative is a fact-based independent group of advocates concerned about the critical issue of affordable housing in El Paso County. The Collaborative grew out of the City of Colorado Springs’ partnership with the Innovations in Aging Collaborative and their work on the Age-Friendly Colorado Springs housing domain.
The goals of the Collaborative are to:
• Educate the community-at-large through fact-based research about the affordable housing issue and its impact on our community.
• Centralize information about activities and initiatives related to affordable housing.
• Influence community members to support affordable housing efforts.
The efforts of the Affordable Housing Collaborative support the City’s 2020-2024 Strategic Plan Goal #3, Building Community & Collaborative Relationships. Goal #3 is supported by enabling community partnerships that increase affordable housing opportunities.
