This is the second of six anticipated Work Sessions requested by Council as an overview of City special districts and policy. Today's areas of focus will be metropolitan districts along with background on the overall district application submittal, processing review, and decision processes.

1) Metropolitan Districts
Colorado Revised Statutes Title 32 metropolitan districts are by far the most prevalent type of district used in Colorado. In Colorado Springs they are the most common type of district in total numbers, and are the most popular structure for new districts being proposed. Most post-2005 large master planned developments in the City have (or are expected to have) metropolitan districts.
