Summary:
Colorado Springs Utilities will present the 2019 Rate Case during the public hearing for the consideration of resolutions setting Water and Wastewater rates within the service areas of Colorado Springs Utilities.
Previous Council Action:
On September 11, 2018, City Council approved the public hearing date of October 23, 2018. On June 12, 2018, City Council approved the most recent changes to Water and Wastewater Rate Schedules by Resolution No. 60-18.
Background:
On September 11, 2018, Colorado Springs Utilities filed the 2019 Rate Case that included proposed changes to Water and Wastewater Rate Schedules to be effective January 1, 2019, and City Council established a public hearing date of October 23, 2018.
In accordance with the City Code of the City of Colorado Springs § 12.1.108(C)(2), copies of the rate filing were available for public inspection in the City Clerk office, and notice of the proposed changes was provided by publication in the Gazette on September 14, 2018.
The rate filing was also posted on the Colorado Springs Utilities website at www.csu.org, and electronic copies were provided to City Council members.
Financial Implications:
At the public hearing, Colorado Springs Utilities will propose increases and decreases to rates for Water and Wastewater service.
