Summary:
The City Attorney's Office-Utilities Division will present a decision and order and resolution for the 2018 Electric rate case based upon the November 14, 2017 public hearing held on Colorado Springs Utilities' October 10, 2017 rate case filing.
Previous Council Action:
City Council held a public hearing on November 14, 2017 regarding Colorado Springs Utilities' October 10, 2017 rate case filing. City Council reviewed a draft decision and order and a resolution at the November 27, 2017 City Council Work Session Meeting
Background:
On October 10, 2017 Colorado Springs Utilities submitted a 2018 rate case filing that included proposed changes to the Electric Rate Schedules to be effective January 1, 2018. In accordance with Colorado Springs City Code ? 12.1.107, City Council held a public hearing on November 14, 2017 regarding Colorado Springs Utilities' 2018 Electric rate case.
The decision and order summarizes Colorado Springs Utilities' 2018 rate filing and the record of the public hearing held on November 14, 2017. The decision and order also contains City Council's initial directions at that public hearing regarding the 2018 Electric rate case. Any revisions to the draft decision and order or to the draft resolution directed by City Council were incorporated into the final decision and order and final resolution presented for approval by City Council on November 28, 2017.
Financial Implications:
The decision and order and the resolution regarding Electric rates within the Colorado Springs Utilities' Electric service area authorize changes in Colorado Springs Utilities' rates for Electric service.
