A Resolution Approving the 2017 Budget for Pikes Peak Regional Building Department

  Summary:

In accordance with the 2004 Intergovernmental Agreement establishing the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department (RBD), final approval of the Department’s budget shall be by the Colorado Springs City Council and the El Paso County Board of County Commissioners. Attached is Resolution approving the 2016 Budget and a copy of RBD’s 2017 budget.

 

  Previous Council Action: 

City Council approved RBD’s 2016 budget at their regular meeting on December 8, 2015.

 

  Background:

N/A

 

  Financial Implications:

There is no impact to the City’s General Fund as RBD operates as an enterprise financed entirely through revenue generated from plan review, permit, and licensing fees.  The General Fund does make rental payments to the RBD.

 

  Board/Commission Recommendation:

The proposed 2017 RBD Budget was considered by the Regional Building Advisory Board on October 19, 2016 and will be considered by the Regional Building Commission on October 26, 2016.  The item will be considered by the El Paso County Board of Commissioners on a date yet to be determined.

 

  Stakeholder Process:

N/A

 

  Alternatives:

City Council could decide not to approve the RBD’s proposed 2017 budget, in which case the Regional Building Commission will consider changes requested by Council.
