Background:
The National Community Development Association (NCDA) created National Community Development Week in 1986 to bring national attention to the Community Development Block Grant Program. National Community Development Week provides the opportunity for grantees, their sub-recipients, beneficiaries, and State and local partners to come together to harness grassroots support for federal block grant programs by showcasing projects and educating the community on program benefits to the local economy and to the people served by the programs.
