Summary:
Last year City Council amended City Code Section 1.2.901 et seq., which generally governs the appointment of Boards and Commissions. As a result, City Code Section 14.1.101 et seq., which specifically governs the Airport Advisory Commission, requires amendments so that the two (2) Code Sections do not have conflicting provisions.

Background:
On October 23, 2018, City Council amended City Code Section 1.2.901 et seq., which generally governs the appointment of Boards and Commissions. City Code Section 14.1.101 et seq., specifically governs the Airport Advisory Commission. The Airport Advisory Commission amendments to City Code Sections 14.1.101 through 14.1.103, remove conflicting provisions.
This item supports the City's strategic goal relating to building community and collaborative relationships and excelling at City services. The AAC is a volunteer citizen group with special industry knowledge and, therefore, the amendments to the Chapter 14 will continue to build the community and position the Commission to excel at its designated City services.
