Body

  Summary:

City Council members have requested an update on the Garden of the Gods Flood Mitigation Facility Project.  Following the floods of 2013, the City applied for a Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) grant to implement the first phase recommended in the Camp Creek Drainage Basin Study, conducted in 2013-2014. The study identified a detention pond as the key component in flood control within the basin   The City was awarded the grant on October 15, 2015.  Phase I work entailed an Environmental Assessment and Phase 2 included final engineering and construction. The construction phase is scheduled to begin June 17, 2019.
