Summary:
Pursuant to Colorado Revised Statutes section 31-16-207, if at any time a code which a municipality has previously adopted by reference is amended by the agency which originally promulgated, adopted, or enacted it, the governing body may adopt such amendment by reference through the same procedure as required for the adoption of the original code, or an ordinance may be enacted in the regular manner setting forth the entire text of such amendment. Further, pursuant to Colorado Revised Statutes section 31-16-203, the governing body of any municipality must schedule a public hearing upon introduction of an ordinance adopting a code by reference.

The recommended amendments to the Pikes Peak Regional Building Code, 2017 Edition, will simplify the construction process, take advantage of new regulations, standards, code developments, studies, Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM), or Flood Insurance Study (FIS) reports, adopted therein by reference, comply with requirements of the State of Colorado including the adoption of plumbing, electrical, and elevator/escalator safety codes that have been adopted as rules and regulations of Colorado state agencies, and comply with requirements ...
