Background:

A ULI panel comprised of volunteer national experts visited the City of Colorado Springs in January of 2018 and conducted an in-depth assessment of the Southeast area of the City.  The project sponsor was the El Paso County Department of Health.  Several City staff members participated in the panel’s opening reception, stakeholder interview process, and final presentation. Attached is their recently completed final report and recommendations.

The City has been working in partnership through participation in subsequent stakeholder meetings focusing on next steps.  Although this Panel Report identifies the City as the potential sponsor for many of its recommendations, it will ultimately be up to City staff and policy makers to determine which of these recommendations should considered for City support and priority.
