Summary:
A public hearing is scheduled before City Council of the City of Colorado Springs on Tuesday, May 8th, 2018, at 1:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the City Council may hear the matter in Council Chambers, City Hall, 107 North Nevada Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado, to consider the adoption of the 2015 International Fire Code (IFC), and the adoption of penalty provisions in accord with the provisions of Part 2 of Article 16 of Title 31, Colorado Revised Statutes.
A copy of the ordinance to adopt the above IFC Code by reference with amendments, including any penalty provisions, and a copy of the above IFC Code to be considered for adoption are on file with the Clerk of the City of Colorado Springs, 30 South Nevada Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and are open to public inspection during regular business hours.

Background:
Pursuant to Colorado Revised Statute section 31-16-203 the governing body of a municipality must schedule a public hearing when adopting a fire code by reference. The attached public notice is necessary for the ordinance proposed by the Colorado Springs Fire Department to adopt the 2015 International Fire Code as amended as the City’s fire prevention code in section 8.4.1 of the City Code.
