Title

Ordinance No. 17-83 amending Section 308 (Office of Traffic Engineer) of Part 3 (Administration) of Article 1 (Administration and Enforcement) of Chapter 10 (Motor Vehicles and Traffic) of the Code of the City of Colorado Springs 2001, as amended, pertaining to the Traffic Engineer

  Presenter:

Councilmember Don Knight
Wynetta Massey, City Attorney

Body

  Summary:

During 2016, as part of the citywide “code scrub” effort to review City Code for necessary updates, members of City Council and representatives of the executive branch convened working committee to review the provisions of Chapter 1 (Administration) and certain provisions of other chapters that are administrative in nature.  As a result of that review, the group recommends a number of changes to certain administrative provisions of City Code.

This ordinance amends Section 10.1.309 of Chapter 10, specifying that the City’s Traffic Engineer is appointed by and reports directly to the Public Works Director, rather than the Mayor.
