  Background:

Josh Preather is a snow plow driver for the City’s Streets Division who was approached by an AMR ambulance driver during the last April snow storm. The ambulance was on call but had not been able to access the residence due to icy conditions.  Josh not only plowed a path to the home of the patient who was in critical condition, but also continued with the ambulance paving a path to the hospital. The medics from AMR commented that this patient was in such critical condition that the individual probably would have died had Josh not stepped up the way he did.

Chelsea Minnis was an extremely important part of this effort as well. Chelsea is a dispatcher with the Streets Division who stayed on the phone with Josh the entire time, giving him precise directions on the best and quickest way to get to the patient as well as getting to the hospital.

Thus, we are honoring both Josh and Chelsea with a Spirit of the Springs Award in recognition of the dedication and commitment they give to their jobs and community.
