Summary:
The modifications incorporate a new version of the Colorado Plumbing Code adopted in 2016 by the Colorado State Plumbing Board. Local governments are required to adopt such state codes within one (1) year after state adoption.
In coordination with the City Clerk's Office, the following is the proposed schedule for publication and consideration of the code changes:
November 7 - Public Hearing Notice Published
November 14 - Public Hearing Notice Published
November 22 - First Reading at City Council Regular Meeting
November 25 - First Ordinance Publication
December 13 - Second Reading at City Council Regular Meeting
December 21 - Second Ordinance Publication

Background:
Part 1(General Provisions), Article 10 (Building Code Administration), Chapter 7 (Planning, Development and Building) of the City Code of the City of Colorado Springs, 2001 as amended (City Code) by reference adopts the Pikes Peak Regional Building Code as published by the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department (PPRBD). The Pikes Peak Regional Building Code incorporates secondary codes adopted by state agencies, such as the Colorado Plumbing Code. In February 2016, the Colorado State Plumbing Board adopted a new Colorado Plumbing Code, and local governments are required to adopt such state codes within one (1) year after state adoption.
