Summary:
On July 28, 2015 City Council adopted Resolution No. 76-15, setting a public hearing to receive public comment concerning the City of Colorado Springs' future cable-related community needs and interests and concerning past performance of Comcast of Colorado/Pennsylvania/West Virginia, LLC (locally known as Comcast) under the existing franchise.

Background:
The public hearing will be held on August 10, 2015 at 6:00 PM at City Hall, 107 N. Nevada Ave. Citizens may provide input at the meeting, or may submit written comments on any or all of the following topics:
? Customer Service-information regarding the public's customer service experience(s) with Comcast
? Channel selection and program options-information related to programming available to Comcast subscribers in the City
? Comcast's use of public facilities, such as rights of way and public utilities easements-information related to Comcast's use of public facilities
? The fee charged to Comcast to use the City's public facilities. This is generally called a franchise fee. Under federal law a franchise fee may not exceed 5 percent of gross revenue and the cable operator may pass through the franchise fee to cable subscribers. The current franchise fee is $1.53 per subscriber.
? Any other matter that is pertinent to Comcast's past performance or the community's future cable-related needs.
The franchise agreement relates only to cable television and not to any other service provided by Comcast. Please limit comments to those related to cable television service provided by Comcast within the City of Colorado Springs.
