The attached supplemental appropriation ordinance from the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department is to increase the revenue and expenditure appropriation in the Pikes Peak - America's Mountain (PPAM) Fund in the amount of $10,000 for the Noxious Weed Control Grant Project.
Previous Council Action:
City Council approved the annual appropriation ordinance adopting the annual budget for 2014 on December 9, 2014.
Background:
During the 2015 budget process, PPAM appropriated $20,000 for the Noxious Weed Control Project. Since completing the 2015 budget process, PPAM has partnered with Colorado Springs Utilities for a coordinated Noxious Weed Eradication Project within the Pikes Peak Corridor and Colorado Springs Utilities properties. PPAM applied for grant funds from the Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) and was notified of the award in February 2015, in the amount of $10,000 to be used for the Noxious Weed Control project. The supplemental appropriation is needed for the acceptance of the awarded grant funds.
Financial Implications:
The attached supplemental appropriation ordinance amends 2015 revenue and expenditure appropriation for the Pikes Peak - America's Mountain Fund in the amount of $10,000. The source of funds is a grant from the Colorado Department of Agriculture. This funding will be applied to the 2015 Noxious Weed Control grant project.
