Title
A resolution in support of Colorado Springs' Council of Neighbors and Organizations and Neighbor Up! Week in Colorado Springs
Body
From:
Councilmember Jill Gaebler
Summary:
The proposed resolution expresses City Council's appreciation for the work of the Council of Neighbors and Organizations (CONO) to support neighborhoods in the Pikes Peak region and its support for CONO's inaugural Neighbor Up! week, which will take place during the week of April 12-19.
The resolution also authorizes funding from City Council's budget to support CONO's education and outreach programs which help neighborhood organizations to solve problems relating to public safety and other quality of life issues. This investment in CONO's programs assists the City and offsets its costs, especially in the area of public safety.
Finally, the resolution recognizes the importance of regional collaboration in work relating to CONO's mission, and notes that El Paso County is an important part of this collaboration, and recommends the appointment of a Councilmember to CONO's Advisory Committee.
