Summary:
In accordance with City Charter § 13-20(a), the annual salary of the Mayor was set at $96,000 for the first Mayor elected under the Council-Mayor form of government in 2011. City Charter § 13-20 (a) further provides that the salary of the Mayor shall be adjusted every four years to coincide with the start of the new Mayoral term, reflecting any change, up or down, over that four-year period in the most local consumer price index for all urban consumers published by the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics. A new Mayoral term will begin in 2015, and the Charter requires an adjustment to the salary of the Mayor.

No prior Council action has been taken. The annual salary for the first Mayor elected under the voter approved comprehensive amendments to the City Charter implementing the Council-Mayor form of government in 2011 was set at $96,000.
