Summary:
The Colorado Springs Urban Renewal Authority Board and Executive Director, Jariah Walker submitted Sam Friesema for reappointment to the board for a four-year term. Mayor Yemi Mobolade recommends Sam Friesema for appointment.

Background:
The Colorado Springs Urban Renewal Authority (CSURA) was established by the City of Colorado Springs City Council in 1970 through the approval of Ordinance No. 3995.
The current board consists of nine commissioners appointed for a term of five-years and terms are staggered so one vacancy occurs each year. Accordance with HB-1348, four additional commissioner positions have been added to the board: one to be appointed by El Paso County, one to be appointed by the School Districts, one to be appointed by the Special Districts and one to be appointed by the Mayor.
Previous Council Action:
Sam Friesema will serve an active term beginning on December 8, 2020, and expiring on April 1, 2025.
