Summary:
Colorado Springs Utilities (Utilities) is proposing changes to the Electric Cost Adjustment (ECA) rates effective October 1, 2026. The proposed ECA rate adjustment changes the current rate of $0.0233 per kWh to $0.0211 per kWh.
Background:
Utilities performs continuous monitoring of fuel related rates with monthly updates provided to the Utilities Board.
Previous Council Action:
On March 24, 2026, City Council approved the ECA rate of $0.0233 per kWh by Resolution 27-26.
Financial Implications:
Implementing the proposed rates will impact the respective customer’s Sample Total Monthly Electric bill:
Residential electric bill decrease of $1.54 or 1.4%
Commercial electric bill decrease of $13.20 or 1.9%
Industrial electric bill decrease of $967.20 or 2.4%
