As background, David Neville withdrew from the Colorado Springs Urban Renewal Authority (CSURA) Board leaving an open board seat to be filled for his remaining two year term expiring April 1, 2017.
The vacant position was posted January 5, 2015 with a closing date of January 19, 2015. President Pro Tem Merv Bennett, Chief of Staff Steve Cox, Acting URA Chair Wynne Palermo, Human Resources Director Mike Sullivan, Planning Director Peter Wysocki, Project Manager Bob Cope, Deputy Chief of Staff Bret Waters and myself reviewed twelve applications (one applicant did not apply by the deadline) thereby thirteen of our citizens came forward expressing interest to serve as a Commissioner on the CSURA Board.
Five applicants were interviewed in person by President Pro Tem Merv Bennett, Chief of Staff Steve Cox, Acting URA Chair Wynne Palermo, Human Resources Director Mike Sullivan, Planning Director Peter Wysocki and myself. Based on the unanimous recommendation of the interview panel, I appointed Mr. Zachary McComsey and is brought to Council today for Council's confirmation of:

Whereas the Mayor appoints the CSURA Board Members and seeks confirmation of Zachary McComsey.
