Summary:
This is an intergovernmental agreement with the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder for the 2017 Coordinated Election.
Previous Council Action:
On July 11, 2017 City Council passed a resolution declaring their intention to hold a Special Municipal Election and to participate in the 2017 Coordinated Election being conducted by the El Paso County Clerk and Recorder.
On August 21, 2017, City Council will consider a resolution to hold a Special Municipal Election and referring a question to be placed on a ballot in a coordinated November 2017 election.
Background:
State law requires all entities participating in the 11/7/2017 Coordinated Election to sign intergovernmental agreements for this election.
Financial Implications:
The El Paso County Clerk and Recorder estimates it will cost the City $137,264.50 to participate in the 2017 Coordinated Election.
