  Background: 

Members of the Housing Authority Board of Commissioners are appointed by the Mayor of the City of Colorado Springs and approved by the Colorado Springs City Council in accordance with state law. The board consists of seven commissioners appointed for a term of four years and terms are staggered so one vacancy occurs each year. Commissioners may serve two consecutive four-year terms on the Board of Commissioners. Upon completing two consecutive four-year terms, an outgoing commissioner must wait one year before applying for an open vacancy on the Board of Commissioners
