Summary:
Nomination Committee has submitted Judge Kristen Hoffecker as a Presiding Municipal Court Judge. Mayor Yemi Mobolade recommends Judge Kristen Hoffecker for appointment.
Background:
Eleven Associate Judges preside over the daily sessions of the Colorado Springs Municipal Court. Municipal Court judges are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by Colorado Springs City Council. Each judge is a licensed attorney at law who may also maintain a law practice while serving the City of Colorado Springs as a judge on a part-time basis. The Presiding Municipal Court Judge will act as the chief judicial officer and executive head of the Municipal Court.

Summary of Ordinance Language
The Presiding Judge of the Municipal Court shall be a Judge of the Municipal Court, appointed by the Mayor. City Council shall confirm the selection of the Presiding Judge upon the recommendation of the Municipal Court Judges. The Presiding Judge shall receive compensation under an annual contract.
