Title
A Resolution Proclaiming July 2015 to be Park and Recreation Month for the City of Colorado Springs

Body
 From:
Karen Palus, Director of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services

 Summary:
Each July is designated Park and Recreation Month by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA).  The City of Colorado Springs is home to an extensive park system with individual parks, such as Garden of the Gods Park that is acknowledged nationally and internationally on a regular basis. As Colorado Springs was built on a foundation of appreciation for, and use of, parks, it's appropriate to recognize and celebrate the many parks, trails, and open spaces as well as cultural and recreational facilities and programs the City has to offer both residents and visitors alike.

 Previous Council Action:
The City Council previously proclaimed July 2014 to be Park and Recreation Month on June 24, 2014.
