Current board member, Zachary McComsey resigned effective March 31, 2016. This vacant position was advertised and Mayor Suthers conducted interviews. The Mayor recommends Jack Wiepking for appointment to a one year term.

Previous Council Action:
Zachary McComsey was appointed to fill a vacant two year term at the March 24, 2015 Regular Council Meeting. He resigned from his position on the Urban Renewal Authority Board effective March 31, 2016.
Background:
The Colorado Springs Urban Renewal Authority (CSURA) was established by the City of Colorado Springs City Council in 1970 through the approval of Ordinance No. 3995.
The current board consists of nine commissioners appointed for a term of five years and terms are staggered so one vacancy occurs each year. Accordance with HB-1348, four additional commissioner positions have been added to the board: one to be appointed by El Paso County, one to be appointed by the School Districts, one to be appointed by the Special Districts and one to be appointed by the Mayor.
