Summary:
The Budget Ordinance adopts the budgets and appropriates all funds and reflects administrative and City Council changes as line items.
At the 2027 Budget Markup Session on October 29, 2026, City Council will discuss changes to the 2027 budget released on October 5, 2026.
After the 2027 Budget Markup Session, the Budget Ordinance will be updated and included in the agenda packet for the November 10 Regular City Council meeting.
Background:
The Mayor transmitted the 2027 Budget to City Council on October 5, 2026, and the 2027 Budget was reviewed and discussed by City Council in a Budget Work Session on October 15, 2026 and a Budget Markup session on October 29, 2026. Public input was received by City Council at a formal public hearing held on October 26, 2026.
Previous Council Action:
City Council met on October 2, 2026 to review the 2027 budget. In addition, City Council held a Budget Work Session on October 15, 2026, and a Budget Markup session on October 29, 2026.
Financial Implications:
The City’s 2027 Budget, inclusive of all funds, totals $1,025,130,213 which is a increase of $110.9 million or 12.1% as compared to the original 2026 Budget.
The 2027 General Fund Budget totals $465,497,438. This represents a increase of $38.1 million, or 8.9%, as compared to the original 2026 Budget.
