  Summary:

The Ronald J. Siarnicki Seal of Excellence is awarded to those that demonstrate innovative leadership and a relentless dedication to reducing firefighter line-of-duty deaths and injuries.  It honors those who have gone above and beyond to create a safer, more resilient fire service by actively promoting the best practices and embracing a culture of health and safety.

 

  Background: 

This prestigious award that is provided by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation’s has been previously presented over the years twenty-two times to individuals, groups, and fire, rescue, and/or EMS departments that demonstrate a commitment to the 16 Firefighter Life Safety Initiatives.  Fire department recipients have included the FDNY, Howard County Fire and Rescue, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue, Ann Arundel County Fire Dept., Montecillo, NY Fire Dept, Raliegh, NC Fire Dept,. and East Pierce Fire Dept.  As well, a few State Fire/Fire Chief Associations to include Texas, Rhode Island and North Dakota have been honored.
