  Summary:

The proposed resolution expresses City Council’s continued appreciation for the work of the Council of Neighbors and Organizations (CONO) to support neighborhoods in the Pikes Peak region and its support for CONO’s inaugural Neighbor Up! week, which will take place during the week of April 30-May 6, 2016.

The resolution also recognizes the City’s inaugural Citizen’s College in cooperation with CONO and the community.  The first Citizen’s College will be held on four consecutive Saturdays in May and June, with the City hosting the first two days - May 14 and May 21.

 

  Previous Council Action: 

On March 24, 2015, City Council adopted Resolution 30-15 in support of CONO and Neighbor Up! week.

 

  Background:

This item supports the City’s strategic goal relating to building community and collaborative relationships, as CONO is a key, strategic partner in supporting our City’s neighborhoods and furthering our citizen outreach and engagement through a Citizen’s College.
