Summary:
A Memorandum of Agreement between the City of Colorado Springs, Teller County, Lake County, Chaffee County, Park County, and El Paso County for the purpose of providing cooperative and mutually beneficial emergency management services and public safety services through the sharing of security equipment and personnel.
Previous Council Action:
Resolution 205-09 was passed and Disaster Mutual Aid was established with the same jurisdictions listed above in 2009.
Background:
The previous agreement expired in September 2014. This version of the agreement has been reviewed and revised to reflect current statutes and practices.
Financial Implications:
No new financial implications. This is re-establishing agreements that have historically been in place.
Board/Commission Recommendation:
To adopt and sign the agreements with the six jurisdictions.
Stakeholder Process:
The agreement has been reviewed by emergency managers and legal counsel from all six jurisdictions.
