 Summary:

Council President Keith King presents the attached resolution relating to Council's retention of outside counsel to assist the City Attorney with certain legal matters associated with the ability of City Council to initiate changes to the City's annual appropriations ordinance, including issues related to the legislative authority of the City Council concerning the City's budget process.

 Previous Council Action:  

City Council received a briefing from the City Attorney in open session at its work session meeting of July 21, 2014 relating to an opinion issued by the City Attorney's Office on July 14, 2014 concerning the City Council's authority to initiate amendments to the annual appropriations ordinance.
