Background:
A key activity of a transit agency is the responsible maintenance of its vehicles to ensure public safety, efficient and reliable service, and to protect the value of assets. The Transit Services Division contracts with a private company hired through a competitive procurement process to provide fleet maintenance services.
The current fleet maintenance contractor is McDonald Transit Associates. The annual contract cost is $2.3 million and includes maintenance and repairs for 158 vehicles with an estimated value of $9.8 million.
