Summary:
The attached ordinance is a supplemental appropriation for General Fund in the amount of $213,188.77 for the estimated cost of the election that will occur in November, 2015, which were not included in the original budget.
Previous Council Action:
On December 9, 2014, City Council approved the original 2015 Budget per Ordinance No. 14-101, which included $600,000 of appropriation for election expenses. This amount was expended on the April municipal election and the Mayoral run-off election, therefore, additional appropriation is required for the November election expense.
Background:
The City will be participating in the coordinated election conducted by mail ballot to be held on November 3, 2015. The estimated cost to the City of participating in this election is 213,188.77.
Financial Implications:
The supplemental appropriation increases the 2015 General Fund expenditure budget by $213,188.77. The source of these funds is the General Fund available fund balance.
