Summary:
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Colorado Springs has developed a Business Relief Package aimed at providing support for local businesses directly impacted.
Background:
Federal, state and local efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19 have had significant negative impacts on local businesses. Many local businesses have been ordered to be closed. During the time of closure, revenues are reduced or eliminated altogether and many expenses continue. The goal of the Business Relief Package is to provide support to local businesses and their employees who have been directly impacted, so that they can survive during this crisis, and be in a position to continue and even thrive once the crisis is over. Many industries have been impacted, with restaurants, bars, hospitality, general retail and general services hit particularly hard.
The Businesses Relief Package includes support and assistance from the City and other local sources, plus it seeks to connect local businesses and the local workforce to resources at the state and federal level.
