Body

  Summary:

Colorado is experiencing a new wave of funding, infrastructure and support to help communities improve waste and recycling systems, all at no cost to local governments. This presentation will introduce Council members to programs that can help the City reduce landfill waste, increase recycling rates, and support local jobs. Alicia Archibald, a City resident and a Satellite Coordinator at the Circular Economy Development Center, will be joined by experts from the State and nonprofit sector to explain how these programs work, why now is a key time for action, and what steps Colorado Springs can take to participate. This is a practical conversation about making waste management work better - for the city, for residents, and for the future.
