  Summary:

Mia was originally appointed to complete a vacant term in September of 2015, with an expiration of March 12, 2018.  Mia was appointed to her first full term from March 12, 2018 to March 12, 2021.  At the recommendation of the Colorado Springs Health Foundation Board, Mayor Suthers, Councilmember Knight and Councilmember Geislinger conducted interviews and agreed on a reappointment for a second term.

  Background: 

The Colorado Springs Health Foundation (CSHF) was created to oversee the funds that the City of Colorado Springs receives from the lease of Memorial Health System, now operating as UCHealth - Memorial Hospital. This Foundation was charged with stewarding these funds in perpetuity for addressing health issues in the Pikes Peak Region.
