Title
A resolution recognizing September 27 - October 5, 2014 as "Creek Week" in the City of Colorado Springs

Body
 From:
Councilmember Val Snider

 Summary:
The City of Colorado Springs participates with other local governments in the Fountain Creek Watershed, Flood Control and Greenway District, a special district established in 2009 to advise on land use within the Fountain Creek watershed and to contribute to the management and funding of flood control and other projects that affect Fountain Creek.

The District will sponsor "Creek Week" during the week of September 27 - October 5, to create local stewardship and education on the aesthetic, recreational and ecological values of Fountain Creek, and, as a result of a grant from Lowe's and Keep America Beautiful, will conduct volunteer clearnups along Fountain Creek during that week.

El Paso County's Board of County Commissioners voted to adopt a similar resolution at their meeting on September 16.
