  Summary:

The City of Colorado Springs has hired N.E.S. to conduct a master plan for the North Nevada Economic Opportunity Zone.  The master planning process, titled Renew North Nevada Avenue, is underway.

 

  Previous Council Action: 

An overview of the scope and process thus far was presented in September to City Council.

 

  Background:

This presentation is intended to provide an update on progress made thus far in the project, and speak to next steps and the review and approval process.  This item supports the City’s strategic goal relating to promoting job creation and building community and collaborative relationships.  Specifically, one of the City’s Strategic Plan initiatives is “Facilitate increased private sector investment in EOZs through improving infrastructure, updating planning efforts, and changing related City policies.”

None at this time.

N/A.  This item was presented at an informal Planning Commission meeting.

 

  Stakeholder Process:

The Renew North Nevada Avenue planning process has involved significant community input, which is detailed in the attached presentation.  The process is also guided by a Stakeholder Steering Committee.
