  Summary:

Planning + Neighborhood Services Department Staff will introduce Ron Sladek, Tatanka Historical Associates, Inc., the consultant hired to complete the City of Colorado Springs Historic Resource Survey Plan and describe the purpose of the survey plan.

 

  Background: 

The Historic Resource Survey Plan is a recommended action item from HistoricCOS, the City’s Preservation Plan.

 

  Previous Council Action:

2019, adoption of the HistoricCOS.

 

  Financial Implications:

The Historic Resource Survey Plan is funded by a grant from the State Historical Fund in the amount of $23,500.00 and a city cash match of $9,000.00.

 

  City Council Appointed Board/Commission/Committee Recommendation:

The City of Colorado Springs Historic Preservation Board identified the Historic Resource Survey Plan as high priority in January 2022, pursued a grant with History Colorado and was awarded a grant for the project in November 2022. The grant agreement was issued in May 2023 and the consultant was finally selected in December 2023.

The Historic Resource Survey Plan will have a stakeholder process.
