Title
An ordinance amending Ordinance No. 13-77 (2014 Appropriations Ordinance) to reduce the appropriation to the General Fund in the amount of $250,000 as that amount budgeted for elections expense is not required

Body
 From:
Councilmember Don Knight

 Summary:
At its June 24 regular meeting, Council passed four ordinances on first reading relating to elmininating certain business license fees.  If these ordinances are finally passed and implemented, the predicted revenue loss to the City for the remainder of the 2014 budget year could be as much as approximately $200,000.

City Council has made the decision not to place any items on the coordinated ballot for the November 2014 election; thus, the $250,000 appropriated in the 2014 budget under General Costs will not be expended during 2014.

This draft ordinance reduces the 2014 appropriated budget for 2014 by $250,000 to account for the projected loss of revenue due to the anticipated change in business licensing ordinances.
