  Summary:

The alarm company registration is moving to the Colorado Springs Police Department. This resolution simply removes the fees for an alarm company license from the City Clerk’s Office business license fee structure.

 

  Background: 

Two companion ordinances are being proposed at the same time as this resolution to move the alarm company registration from the City Clerk’s office to the Colorado Springs Police Department. Amendment to the business license fee schedule is required along with the proposed removal of the licensing requirement through the City Clerk’s Office.

There is no impact to General Fund revenue.

  Stakeholder Process:

In addition to the stakeholder engagement process conducted by the Colorado Springs Police Department for amendments to the City Code (8.5.101 et.seq.), the City Clerk sent an email to the licensees explaining the proposed changes and requesting comments.

Not approve the fee removal.
