Title
A Resolution Withdrawing Industrial Service - Interruptible Sales (G3D) From the Colorado Springs Utilities Natural Gas Service Tariff
Body
From:
Jerry Forte, P.E., Chief Executive Officer, Colorado Springs Utilities
Summary:
Colorado Springs Utilities (Utilities) requests City Council to approve removal of Industrial Service - Interruptible Sales - G3D (G3D) service from its Natural Gas Service tariffs.
Previous Council Action:
By Resolution No. 116-13 dated November 26, 2013, City Council approved the latest changes to G3D service.
Background:
With this filing Utilities proposes to withdraw G3D service from its Natural Gas Service tariff. Utilities provides Interruptible Gas Service within its service territory. The Natural Gas tariff currently offers three options for Interruptible Gas Service: G2I provides a standard interruption option, G3M provides a monthly index option and G3D provides a daily index option. Utilities desires to remove the G3D offering since Utilities currently has no customers on the G3D rate option, and also because G3D includes partial interruption components which is outside the intent of an interruptible tariff. Utilities believes G2I and G3M options provide reasonable alternatives for customers desiring interruptible gas service. No customers will be negatively impacted by the withdrawal of this service.
Financial Implications:
No impact since there are currently no customers on this tariff.
