Summary:
The City Attorney's Office-Utilities Division will present a Decision and Order and Resolution for the 2021 Water Rate Case based upon the October 27, 2020 public hearing held for Colorado Springs Utilities' 2021 Rate Case filed on September 22, 2020.

Background:
On September 22, 2020 Colorado Springs Utilities submitted a 2021 Rate Case filing that included proposed changes to a Water Rate Schedule effective January 1, 2021. In accordance with Colorado Springs City Code ? 12.1.108, City Council held a public hearing on October 27, 2020 regarding Colorado Springs Utilities' 2021 Water Rate Case.

The Decision and Order summarizes Colorado Springs Utilities' 2021 Water Rate Case and the record of the public hearing held on October 27, 2020. The Decision and Order also contains City Council's initial directions at that public hearing regarding the 2021 Water Rate Case. The final Decision and Order and final Resolution presented for approval by City Council at the November 10, 2020 meeting includes any City Council directed revisions from the November 9, 2020 Work Session meeting.

Previous Council Action:
City Council held a public hearing on October 27, 2020 regarding Colorado Springs Utilities' 2021 Rate Case filed on September 22, 2020. City Council reviewed the draft Decision and Order and draft Resolution at the November 9, 2020 City Council Work Session meeting.

Financial Implications:
The Decision and Order and the Resolution authorize changes in Colorado Springs Utilities' Water Rate Schedule as reflected in the 2021 Rate Case filing.
