Summary:
In accordance with the 2004 Intergovernmental Agreement establishing Pikes Peak Regional Building Department ("RBD"), any changes to the construction codes require the approval of all signatory jurisdictions. Attached is a copy of the 2017 Pikes Peak Regional Building Code ("PPRBC"). All amendments to the PPRBC are technical changes for building, mechanical, plumbing and electrical provisions. There are no changes to the fee structure and administrative provisions and no changes to the penalty provisions of the PPRBC.
Previous Council Action:
On March 22, 2011, City Council adopted Ordinance No. 11-34 pertaining to adoption of the 2011 Regional Building Code. Several amendments to the 2011 Regional Building Code were adopted between 2011 and the current, as amended, version.
Background:
This item supports the City's strategic goal relating to excelling at City services. The new proposed amendments and adoption of the PPRBC allow continued life safety inspections with an updated code within the City limits.
