Designating the City Clerk's Office as the public place for posting of public notices for public meetings, in accordance with City Charter 3-60(d) and the City Charter Appendix- Colorado Revised Statute ("C.R.S.") Section 24-6-401 et.seq
Background:
Pursuant to City Charter 3-60(d) and the City Charter Appendix ( C.R.S. Section 24-6-401 et. seq. Open Meetings Law), any meetings at which the adoption of any proposed policy, position, resolution, rule, regulation or formal action occurs or at which a majority or quorum of the body is in attendance, or is expected to be in attendance, requires notice of the meeting to be posted in a designated public place within the boundaries of the local public body not less than 24 hours prior to the meeting.
Additionally, this provision mandates that at its first regular meeting of each calendar year, the local public body must formally designate the public place or places for posting all public meetings.
Previous Council Action:
In accordance with City Charter 3-60(d) and the City Charter Appendix ( C.R.S. Section 24-6-401 et. seq. Open Meetings Law), City Council has annually designated the City Clerk's Office as the public place for posting all public meetings at its first regular meeting of each calendar year. The notices are posted in the glass cases in the lobby area outside the City Clerk's Office and also on the City website calendar of events.
